Pre 2010

Pre 2010 – Fulcrum grows from the gas board and operates as the UK’s new connection arm of Transco and then National Grid


July 2010 – Fulcrum is floated on AIM

August 2011 – Fulcrum’s new HO is established in Sheffield


July 2012 – Fulcrum installs and adopts gas infrastructure for the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, including the connection to the iconic Olympic cauldron

October 2012 - Fulcrum wins a landmark £7.6m, 26km gas pipeline contract for the creation of a new pipeline linking remote Speyside distilleries at The Glenlivet, Tormore, Cragganmore and Tomintoul with Scotland’s main gas network.


May 2013 – Martin Donnachie is appointed as interim CEO

October 2013 – Martin Donnachie is appointed as permanent CEO

December 2013 – Fulcrum wins national utility award for project management for its part in fuelling the Olympic Games


May 2014 – Fulcrum engineer, Paul Leighton, takes a national engineering award for contributions to the Olympic Games

June 2014 – The £7.6m Speyside Gas pipeline completes 6 months ahead of schedule with a 100% safety record

September 2014 – Martin Harrison is appointed as CFO


January 2015 – Fulcrum launches its new FirstGas Brand, designed to appeal to the uninformed, end-user market and announces its move to a directly managed delivery model

April 2015 - Fulcrum rolls out its direct delivery model for utility infrastructure projects, doubling the size of its workforce. It is also shortlisted for four national utility awards, including Company of the Year

May 2015 – Fulcrum exec member, Carly Gilchrist, wins a national Young Person’s Achievement Award

June 2015 - Fulcrum achieves a landmark first operating profit of £0.6 million

July 2015 - Fulcrum wins a £4 million contract to return to Speyside for a significant 13 kilometre gas pipeline project to deliver seasonal gas supplies to four major Scottish distilleries, Tamdhu, Dalmunach, Cardhu and Knockando

October 2015 - Fulcrum Announces a new 10-Year commitment to Sheffield, with a lease extension to 2016

November 2015 – Fulcrum secures a 26 month extension to its contract with British Gas to 2018

December 2015 - Record pre-tax profits of £1.6million for the six months to 30 September 2015 are reported


January 2016 – Fulcrum continues to expand its product offering with a new bio-gas connections service and is confirmed as AIMs 9th highest percentage growth share in 2015

March 2016 – Fulcrum continues to grow its electricity and dual fuel offering with the extension of its First brand. The Company’s third brand, FirstElectricity, targets the uninformed, end-user market and builds on the successful FirstGas brand and website.

The £4 million Speyside pipeline project also completes one month ahead of schedule

May 2016 - Fulcrum beats off fierce competition from major network operators to secure the Company of the Year and Manager of the Year awards at the prestigious Gas Industry Awards

June 2016 - Fulcrum announces a strong set of financial results for the full year 2016 with a substantial increase in profits and strong cash generation
